Change is a double-edged sword. Part of us must die, so something else can grow. Nothing is meant to stay the same. Remaining unchanged is unsustainable, unhealthy. It’s always what we need, even when it’s unwanted and unclear of purpose. Thankfully, we hold the power of how to experience and perceive pain, which is change.
Embrace it.
The shock, the hurt, the hate, guilt, shame, anger. The nothingness, fear. Lay in the filth and feel it. Then, when it is time, let it go. It will slowly morph, often unnoticed, and something new will have taken its place. But it never goes away, because it’s part of what makes you who you are right now. In this moment. And this is exactly where and who you are supposed to be.
The Inevitable Change Virtual Showcase is based on this theme of The Love Story’s Volume 3 print journal. During the two hour showcase, three contributing artists will perform their talent and testimonies with introductions, intermediate comments, questions, and resonating journal prompts from The Love Story Producer.
There will be an hour break to reflect, resonate, and write. Then the show continues with an hour after party open mic for those who would like to share their words on a platform of kindred journal artists.

“Both life and death manifest in every moment of existence. Our human body appears and disappears moment by moment, without cease, and this ceaseless arising and passing away is what we experience as time and being. They are not separate. They are one thing, and in even a fraction of a second, we have the opportunity to choose, and to turn the course of our action either toward the attainment of truth or away from it.”
Ruth Ozeki, A Tale for the Time Being
